Accounting Manager – Full time, Exempt position

Essential Functions

  • Ensure accurate and efficient completion of Accounting department functions; perform backup function(s) as necessary
  • Establish, implement and update Credit Union’s policies and procedures within areas of responsibility
  • Ensure accounting records are maintained in accordance with GAAP and in compliance with laws and regulations, recommending/implementing changes when necessary
  • Ensure effective training and utilization of department staff to meet the credit union’s needs and to assure quality service objectives
  • Responsible for all aspects of monthly financial statement package preparation
  • Oversee quarterly report preparation such as NCUA 5300 call report and ESI premium report    
  • Ensure timely and accurate updating of ALM software, including report preparation and analysis
  • Responsible for the timely preparation of annual budget using ALM software
  • Active participation in Asset Liability Committee, required meetings, and training sessions
  • Conduct special accounting studies, analyses, and special projects as requested
  • Attain and maintain knowledge of all credit union services while maintaining member confidentiality
  • Provide support to CFO as requested
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or assigned

 
Education and Skill Experience

  • A four-year degree in accounting with a minimum three years’ supervisory experience is required; a minimum three years of financial institution experience is preferred
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as working independently
  • Strong interpersonal skills (oral and written communications), active listening, positive attitude
  • Good analytical skills
  • Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Proficient in MS Excel and Word with the ability to learn new software programs as required

Consumer Lending Supervisor - Full time (40 hour work week), Non-exempt position

Essential Functions

  • Ensure accurate and efficient completion of all Consumer Lending functions.
  • Coach staff to follow consumer lending procedures and ensure compliance with Credit Union policies and federal regulations; make recommended revisions to Manager when applicable.
  • Work with manager for staff to build a long-term financial relationship with each member through active participation in the Credit
  • Union’s consultative sales culture initiatives. (i.e.: identifying the member’s immediate needs as well as long-term financial goals, and subsequently recommend appropriate products and services)
  • Coach staff to recognize member opportunities and needs for other Credit Union products or services.  Ensure staff provide product and service referrals to appropriate department in order to ensure the financial education and growth of member relationships.
  • Provide timely and effective communication of special member requests or escalated concerns with recommended solutions to the loan manager.
  • Promote professional development of staff by providing coaching, mentoring, and formal training opportunities aligned with individual career paths.  Assist senior management in providing leadership, direction, and a positive work environment with the goal of creating and maintaining a highly motivated and efficiently performing team. 
  • Maintain a working knowledge of industry changes and marketplace adjustments in order to ensure Consumer Lending products and services remain competitive.
  • Manage staff and all aspects of scheduling/coverage to ensure department business needs are always met.
  • Coordinate efforts with all other departments in order to ensure consistent growth and compliance is maintained through industry changes. (i.e.: marketing strategies, technological processes, product enhancements)
  • Perform all necessary administrator duties for Consumer Lending with regards to software and technology. (i.e.: weekly/monthly reporting and reconciliation, portfolio tracking, and user maintenance)
  • Other duties, contributions to special projects, and additional responsibilities as assigned.


Education and Skill Experience 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business (preferred) or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • At least three (3) years’ experience in supervising staff (i.e. performance, disciplinary actions, career development, etc.)
  • At least three (3) years prior financial institution experience with similar job functions. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills (oral and written communications), active listening, positive attitude, deportment.
  • Proficient in computer software MS Excel and Word with the ability to learn new software programs as required. 

Consumer Loan Specialist - Full time (40 hour work week), Non-exempt position

Essential Functions

  • Ensure accurate and efficient completion of all Consumer Loan origination functions.
  • Build a long-term financial relationship with each member through active participation in the Credit Union’s consultative service culture initiatives.
  • Meet and exceed individual production goals on a consistent basis; assist and support consumer lending department in meeting departmental goals.
  • Responsible for the timely, accurate, and thorough member interview process while ensuring adherence to internal procedures and compliance.
  • Proactively and efficiently manage individual pipeline including referrals, inquiries, pending applications, and preapproved applications. 
  • Use member onboarding program and other member interactions as opportunities to identify needs and long-term financial goals; educate members on the benefits of potential product and service solutions.
  • Effectively communicate loan terms, products, and application process to members in a timely fashion across a variety of means (phone, email, internal messenger, external messaging system).
  • Ability to perform primary duties and support colleagues in a demanding and high volume business channel.
  • Assist in the timely processing of member loan service requests as needed. 
  • Provide support to other departments as needed in order to process member requests and resolve member conflicts. 
  • Other duties, contributions to special projects, and additional responsibilities as assigned.
     

Education and Skill Experience 

  • Minimum of high school diploma or GED.  Some college credits preferred
  • At least two years’ experience in a financial institution with similar job functions. 
  • At least two years’ experience being in an incentive based environment with proven track record of success.
  • Strong interpersonal skills (oral and written communications, active listening, positive attitude, deportment).
  • Proficient in MS Office (ie. Word, Excel) with the ability to learn new software programs as required.

Staff Accountant - Full time (40 hour work week), Non-exempt position

Essential Functions

  • Prepare and post daily/monthly general ledger transactions including, but not limited to: investment and participation loan activity and schedules, prepaid and fixed asset subsidiary ledgers.
  • Analyze and reconcile general ledger for various accounts as assigned.
  • Perform all aspects of the accounts payable function; research and resolve discrepancies.
  • Prepare all bank reconciliations prior to the month-end close; research and resolve discrepancies.
  • Review and analyze financial data. Generate a variety of reports as requested by management including insurance product reporting and member excess share insurance reports.
  • Cross-train in the preparation of the quarterly NCUA 5300 call report; serve as backup when necessary.
  • Cross-train in all accounting clerk functions; serve as backup when necessary.
  • Assist in working with regulatory agency examiners and auditors in the completion of NCUA exams and financial statement audits.
  • Attain and maintain knowledge of all credit union services while maintaining member confidentiality.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or assigned.
     

Education and Skill Experience

  • Minimum two year degree in accounting or five years of accounting experience in a financial institution is required.  
  • Proficient in office software such as Microsoft Excel and Word with the ability to learn new software programs as required. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills (oral and written communications), active listening, attitude, deportment.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
