Accounting Manager – Full time, Exempt position

Essential Functions

  • Ensure accurate and efficient completion of Accounting department functions; perform backup function(s) as necessary
  • Establish, implement and update Credit Union’s policies and procedures within areas of responsibility
  • Ensure accounting records are maintained in accordance with GAAP and in compliance with laws and regulations, recommending/implementing changes when necessary
  • Ensure effective training and utilization of department staff to meet the credit union’s needs and to assure quality service objectives
  • Responsible for all aspects of monthly financial statement package preparation
  • Oversee quarterly report preparation such as NCUA 5300 call report and ESI premium report    
  • Ensure timely and accurate updating of ALM software, including report preparation and analysis
  • Responsible for the timely preparation of annual budget using ALM software
  • Active participation in Asset Liability Committee, required meetings, and training sessions
  • Conduct special accounting studies, analyses, and special projects as requested
  • Attain and maintain knowledge of all credit union services while maintaining member confidentiality
  • Provide support to CFO as requested
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or assigned

 
Education and Skill Experience

  • A four-year degree in accounting with a minimum three years’ supervisory experience is required; a minimum three years of financial institution experience is preferred
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as working independently
  • Strong interpersonal skills (oral and written communications), active listening, positive attitude
  • Good analytical skills
  • Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment

Consumer Loan Underwriter- Full time (40 hour work week), Non-exempt position

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for utilizing lending authority and making sound and consistent underwriting determinations, documenting decisions, and ensuring compliance throughout the underwriting process.
  • Responsible in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of consumer lending applications, and suggesting process improvements for risk mitigation to management.
  • Ability to make sound determinations outside of standard lending guidelines.
  • Analyze applicant credit data, financial status, collateral value, and financial statements to determine the degree of risk involved in extending credit. 
  • Review loan data and analyze reports to uncover trends in an effort to either support existing lending policy or suggest policy and procedural updates as needed.
  • Stays abreast and in compliance with all Federal, State and Local laws and ensures credit regulations are adhered to throughout the consumer loan process.
  • Supports the building of long-term financial relationships with each member through active participation in the Credit Union’s consultative service culture initiatives.
  • Ability to perform primary duties and support colleagues in a demanding and high volume business channel.
  • Provide support to other departments as needed in order to process member requests and resolve member conflicts.
  • Other duties, contributions to special projects, and additional responsibilities as assigned.

Education and Skill Experience 

  • Minimum of high school diploma or GED.  Some college credits preferred.
  • At least two years’ experience in a financial institution with previous lending authority. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills (oral and written communications, active listening, positive attitude, deportment).
  • Proficient in MS Office (ie. Word, Excel) with the ability to learn new software programs as required.

Consumer Loan Specialist - Full time (40 hour work week), Non-exempt position

Essential Functions

  • Ensure accurate and efficient completion of all Consumer Loan origination functions.
  • Build a long-term financial relationship with each member through active participation in the Credit Union’s consultative service culture initiatives.
  • Meet and exceed individual production goals on a consistent basis; assist and support consumer lending department in meeting departmental goals.
  • Responsible for the timely, accurate, and thorough member interview process while ensuring adherence to internal procedures and compliance.
  • Proactively and efficiently manage individual pipeline including referrals, inquiries, pending applications, and preapproved applications. 
  • Use member onboarding program and other member interactions as opportunities to identify needs and long-term financial goals; educate members on the benefits of potential product and service solutions.
  • Effectively communicate loan terms, products, and application process to members in a timely fashion across a variety of means (phone, email, internal messenger, external messaging system).
  • Ability to perform primary duties and support colleagues in a demanding and high volume business channel.
  • Assist in the timely processing of member loan service requests as needed. 
  • Provide support to other departments as needed in order to process member requests and resolve member conflicts.

Staff Accountant - Full time (40 hour work week), Non-exempt position

Essential Functions

  • Prepare and post daily/monthly general ledger transactions including, but not limited to: investment and participation loan activity and schedules, prepaid and fixed asset subsidiary ledgers.
  • Analyze and reconcile general ledger for various accounts as assigned.
  • Perform all aspects of the accounts payable function; research and resolve discrepancies.
  • Prepare all bank reconciliations prior to the month-end close; research and resolve discrepancies.
  • Review and analyze financial data. Generate a variety of reports as requested by management including insurance product reporting and member excess share insurance reports.
  • Cross-train in the preparation of the quarterly NCUA 5300 call report; serve as backup when necessary.
  • Cross-train in all accounting clerk functions; serve as backup when necessary.
  • Assist in working with regulatory agency examiners and auditors in the completion of NCUA exams and financial statement audits.
  • Attain and maintain knowledge of all credit union services while maintaining member confidentiality.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or assigned.
     

Education and Skill Experience

  • Minimum two year degree in accounting or five years of accounting experience in a financial institution is required.  
  • Proficient in office software such as Microsoft Excel and Word with the ability to learn new software programs as required.

MSR Retail Branches - Full time (40 hour work week), Non-exempt position

Essential Functions

  • Build a long-term financial relationship with each member through active participation in the Credit Union’s consultative service culture initiatives
  • Use member onboarding program and other member interactions as opportunities to identify member needs and long-term financial goals and educate him/her of the potential product and service solutions
  • Assist members with online /mobile access, account review, as well as account opening and closures
  • Work with other departments in the efficient processing of member transactions on their loan and deposit accounts.
  • Safeguard the assets of the branch by assuring that cash procedures are followed, administering and enforcing all security procedures, complying with BSA and all federal regulations relating to branch operations
  • Perform traditional teller functions such as cash drawer balancing and processing member transaction requests such as deposits, withdrawals, transfers, as well as assist the branch supervisor in ordering and auditing cash and money orders for the branch  
  • Provide support to inter- and intra-departmental staff as needed up to and including covering other departments and branches
  • Flexibility with scheduling/coverage due to business needs
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Minimum high school diploma or GED equivalent.  Some college credits preferred

Collections Clerk - Full time (40 hour work week), Non-exempt position

Essential Functions

  • Process all correspondence for collections department, ensuring accuracy of work. Create form letters, type labels, and provide general administrative support.  Negative balance letters daily, attorney log updated weekly as needed.
  • Maintain collection files according to the department procedures.  Prepare Charge offs, negative balance and Visa accounts for legal action and update attorney log.
  • Input and research data on credit union’s system, and generate reports are requested.  Update Monthly attorney log, bankruptcy log.
  • Respond to telephone calls regarding payment notices and delinquent accounts.  Assisting members on in and outgoing calls.
  • Supervise mailing of payment notices, ensuring that credit union errors are detected promptly and corrected.
  • Provide members with a complete explanation of the loan’s status as requested.
  • Receive and write receipts for mail payments directed to the department and route to teller.
  • Prepare information needed or required by collection agency and attorneys, and post receipts from collection agency.  Log information into core system and collection system as payments come in monthly from agency and attorneys.
  • Provide support to inter- and intra-departmental staff as needed

Education and Skill Experience

  • A High school diploma or GED required; some college credits preferred
  • At least 1 year with financial institution experience with similar job functions required
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as working alone
  • Strong interpersonal skills (oral and written communications, active listening, positive attitude, deportment).

Call Center MSR Representative - Full time (40 hour work week), Non-exempt position

Essential Functions

  • Researching ad solving member questions, problems, and complaints concerning Credit Union accounts.
  • Account verifications.
  • Cross-selling Credit Union services.
  • Processing various transactions on member accounts.
  • Transferring member to appropriate department or person.
  • Assist members with basic questions regarding their loans.
  • Continuously check member service voice mail and respond to messages accordingly.
  • Order debit cards, check copies, and statements when requested.
  • Process incoming and outgoing wire transfer requests.
  • Perform stop payments on share draft and Credit Union checks.
  • Responsible for researching member inquiries to ensure proper follow-up & member satisfaction.
  • Meet Call Center metrics objectives for talk time, work time, number of calls handled and maintaining a status of available or on a call and minimizing abandoned call center incoming calls.
  • Responsible for maintaining and adhering to scheduled breaks and lunches for the purpose of maintaining the call centers capacity plan and service levels.
  • Meets call monitoring quality objectives.
  • Responsible for assessing members needs and opportunities for increasing product relationship between Atlantic FCU and the member.
  • Utilize technology for lead generation, profiling, and consultative selling to enhance relationships.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or assigned

Back Office Operations Supervisor - Full time (40 hour work week), Non-exempt position

Essential Functions

  • Supervise department to work with other departments in the efficient processing of member requests while identifying member needs and long term financial goals along with educating members on potential products and service solutions.
  • Supervise the day to day operations and staffing of the EFT functions including but not limited to:  Accurate and timely processing of ACH files, Accurate and timely processing of Sponsor company payrolls, Accurate and timely processing of share draft clearings and all required share and loan transfer programs 
  • Serve as a secondary backup for EFT and ACH staff, which requires thorough knowledge of each job function.
  • Supervise the processing of back office member transactions up to and including all back-office exception processing.
    Investigate member accounts/transactions for fraud, resolution and compliance issues.
  • Supervise and perform the resolution of electronic fraud and dispute claims including the life cycle process.
  • Supervise the timely process of filing SARs and CTRs; act as back-up BSA Analyst.
  • Process decedent accounts, including Estate accounts in a timely manner while keeping files current.
  • Supervise and process Government Reclamations, levies and subpoenas.
  • Supervise and process Wire Transfers requests; inbound and outbound.
  • Supervise and process Remote Deposit Checks (RDC).
  • Periodically review all departmental procedures and job functions to ensure maximum efficiency and compliance.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or assigned.
  • Maintain and insure compliance with Federal, State and local banking regulations throughout the Operations Department.
  • Adhere to and comply with all policies and procedures.
  • Provide flexibility with department scheduling/coverage due to business needs.
