Collections Specialist - Full time (40 hour work week), Non-exempt position

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for the control of delinquent loan accounts and pending late payment reminders
  • Review and research delinquent loans
  • Make follow up calls on delinquent loan accounts
  • Maintain accurate records on all delinquent accounts
  • Update and log activity on accounts into the collection module system
  • Assist Collections Manager as needed
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or assigned

Education and Skill Experience 

  • Minimum high school diploma or GED equivalent.  Some college credits preferred
  • Financial institution experience with similar job functions
  • 5-7 years collection experience
  • 2-3 years’ experience with credit card collections, auto collections and repossession experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills (oral and written communications), active listening, positive attitude, deportment
  • Good analytical skills
  • Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Proficient in MS office software such as MS Word with the ability to learn new software programs as required 

Consumer Loan Specialist - Full time (40 hour work week), Non-exempt position

Essential Functions

  • Ensure accurate and efficient completion of all Consumer Loan origination functions
  • Build a long-term financial relationship with each member through active participation in the Credit Union’s consultative service culture initiatives
  • Meet and exceed individual production goals on a consistent basis; assist and support consumer lending department in meeting departmental goals
  • Responsible for the timely, accurate, and thorough member interview process while ensuring adherence to internal procedures and compliance
  • Proactively and efficiently manage individual pipeline including referrals, inquiries, pending applications, and preapproved applications
  • Use member onboarding program and other member interactions as opportunities to identify needs and long-term financial goals; educate members on the benefits of potential product and service solutions
  • Effectively communicate loan terms, products, and application process to members in a timely fashion across a variety of means (phone, email, internal messenger, external messaging system)
  • Ability to perform primary duties and support colleagues in a demanding and high volume business channel
  • Assist in the timely processing of member loan service requests as needed
  • Provide support to other departments as needed in order to process member requests and resolve member conflicts 
  • Other duties, contributions to special projects, and additional responsibilities as assigned
     

Education and Skill Experience

  • At least two years’ experience in a financial institution with similar job functions
  • At least two years’ experience being in an incentive based environment with proven track record of success
  • Strong interpersonal skills (oral and written communications, active listening, positive attitude, deportment)
  • Proficient in MS Office (ie. Word, Excel) with the ability to learn new software programs as required
